Floored

They finished the brick last week. We wanted to make sure they had a number brick for the house.

We stopped over today to see the flooring.
Looked like they are pretty much done. The guys in the master bath said they will be finishing the grout tomorrow. I am happy with the tile and decorative tile that we picked.
Everything looks great. I think the handrail stain is a little darker than we originally picked. E is going to check with our PM tomorrow on that.
They also have the door for the master bath backwards. The door is suppose to swing in, but they have it set to swing out into the bathroom. Guess that is why they charged us $350 for this change; they knew they would have to do everything twice to get it correct.

We also noticed that the door to the master closet was not framed over where it was cut out.
And they added the air return vent in the basement. That was new and we weren't expecting to see this large monster. E will be cutting that when we move in.

Only 4 more weeks....
Not sure what is going to take 4 weeks.

  1. It costs $350 to get the bathroom door to swing the opposite way?? It seems so simple...I love seeing what others have picked for the bathroom tile and I think you made good choices. I really like your HW floors too, so warm and inviting... I'm trying to figure out why your basement looks different than ours.

    1. We also flipped the shower, tub, and window. Because the shower was behind the door the door needed to swing into the bedroom. If we switched it, they would allow the door to swing against the tub in the bathroom.
They knew they would frame it wrong resulting in a $350 charge to us.

  4. The next 4 weeks will fly by. They have a ton of little behind the scenes things to do before you can move in. At least your house is coming to life and you can really envision how it will be.

  5. it looks so great, I can't imagine it taking then 4 weeks to finish but who knows what is up their sleeves! I LOL too at the comment about the doing it wrong, but I guess it's because everything is normally made at their plant.
