One more change????

Last weekend we traveled to Carlisle for the Ford Car Show. While we were there, we stopped at the Venice Model in Carlisle and Hagerstown. They were both older versions of ours, but it still gave us some decorating ideas. We are building a 004 and the Hagerstown model was a 000.

After seeing both of these models, E agreed with me that we should have hardwood in the Family Room. We currently have carpet. We have sent an updated Floor selection sheet to our SR and are waiting on approval from Corporate for the change. Our flooring selections were to be final at the end of April. Crossing all fingers and toes!

E also found online last night an updated floor plan for the Venice Model. There are a lot of changes; there is now an option to finish the attic with a bedroom and bathroom. Our attic doesn't even have a crawl space. And of course, the new version of the house has a tray ceiling in the master bedroom. The ONE thing I really really wanted and couldn't get :-(.

Hopefully these next 2 weeks go really fast. Our pre-construction meeting is Fri 6/28 and Ground Breaking is suppose to begin 7/1.
Almost there...

  1. Fingers crossed for you!!!
When you see things in person its a lot different....yesterday I was watching a show which had carpet in family room and I was very happy that we chose hardwood.

  2. We chose all hardwood, no regrets! It was something we went back and forth on for days, weeks even...it put us slightly over budget but we felt it was a small number over now, but it would be so much more expensive to do it later and then have it match up. Plus because our stairs would have come down right where the carpet in the family room was, we would have had to do a nicer carpet both in the family room and all upstairs so they would match. So this way we did all hardwood and a less expensive carpet upstairs with a nicer pad and it was about the same price.

You will be in construction soon, the part you are at now was an absolute nightmare for me, but now every day there are people working and it's really coming together fast. before you know it, it will be here!

  3. We are building a Venice too and I would have loved tray ceilings in the MB! Darn it! I hope they agree to the flooring update. Best of luck!
